Reached Mile 0 on the AT today after one of the hardest hikes of my life to the summit of Mt. Katahdin. Many thanks to Brian Tatro for guiding me up and down some of the steeper sections along the ledges. 5.2 miles later, we were back at Katahdin Stream campground. Tomorrow I will hike out of Baxter State Park and into the 100 Mile Wilderness. I expect to be incummunicado for the next 10 days or so until I reach Monson, ME.

Rain started on the way down. Prayers for help from St. Bernard seem to have payed off, as rain started just as we dropped below tree line.

Uncle –
This made my day!!! I am working late and am usually able to see you in your cubicle alongside me. It makes me feel good to know you are off doing what you dreamed of instead of toiling at 29 Bartlett. Keep these messages coming brotha!

Thanks, Chuck. Once I get out of the White Mountains I should be able to provide some dates/places where we can meet.
